ECO-ARTS LAB: ART AND SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY WORKSHOP

© ECO-ARTS LAB

The ECO-ARTS LAB was founded in 2024 as an evolution of the Museum Communication Lab, which ran from 2011 to 2023. It focuses on themes related to the relationship between art and social sustainability, with particular emphasis on the impact and effectiveness of artistic languages in promoting social justice, inclusion, human and civil rights, cultural diversity, and combating various forms of social discrimination and gender-based violence. Each year, the lab explores different themes, reinterpreted through the lens of social and environmental sustainability. A key focus is artivism, public art, and all forms of participatory art. Here, art is viewed as a workshop for peace, justice, social innovation, and as a protector of the democratic fabric of nations. Additionally, it is considered a privileged space for the care and protection of all living species and the entire planet.
